days ago, a murder trial began in singapore. the accused: a young man in his 20s. the victim: his step daughter. the newspaper reported that last year, Nonoi, 2 years of age, had gone missing from her home, a one room flat. searches began but in the midst of it, the step father who had also joined in the search efforts, confessed a horrifying truth: he had ('accidentally' as he put it) killed his step daughter. He led the police to the confines of an area under a flyover where he had hidden her body. however, the truth did not end here. the local CSI did their investigation and found out that there were signs of sexual contact on nonoi's genitialia area suggesting further that she had been physically abused. in their conclusion, it is believed that she was raped before being ruthlessly murdered by her stepfather, supposedly to cover up evidences of his inhumane action.
a case, quite similar to this, happened sometime before it. This year, another trial begun, the case being about a father, with mulitple wives, who had sexually abused and raped his handful of daughters. These and many other cases and unfortuantely countless others all around the world......
i'm not usually the kind of person who has an abundance of compassion to shower on pple but a few times, reading of such incidents really moved my heart. things that childrens didn't deserve to suffer came upon them, for many, suddenly. the destructivness of sexual abuse mercilessly tore apart their once bright innocent world and traumatised them with wounds so deep almost beyond recovery and scars that represent dark memories that seem never to cease haunting them. damages was usually long term; those will follow them to adulthood if not properly dealt with. how many more children will be abused today and venture into the latter part of their lives as very broken down and confused individuals ?
this good friday, I, together with millions of Christian worldwide, will remember the death of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of our sins and salvation. dun worry: i'm not going to get u to convert or something like this. even if u dun believe in the message of the cross or if u are muslim, buddhist, hindus, wiccans or mormons, you may not have to remeber good friday the way i do, but please remember it for the masses of innocent infant souls, whom Christ has also died for, who had lost their dignities and in many cases, their lives to the deprave lust of man. we all know they deserve something better but someone juz has to come in and mess them up big time. but these should not even be in the beginning. that's why, whatever u do, remember and pray for them (whatever your religion), do what best to show u care. let's all look forward to the hope of peace and safetly for all children.
finally, have a really good friday!
