Personal financial status, for one, is a subject of horrors, at least in our modern society where bank accounts can drop as sharp as credit card swipes.
Our best purchases end up being our worst excuses, not counting the 'miscellaneous' spending which don't sound as minor as the actual sum.
On my side, the reality of exceeding expenditure may have finally caught up. After evading it for so long, financial survival became a more urgent matter of preservation.
So then, adopt the doctrines of the German U-boats: Attack, scram and save up firepower for future targets. Yeah, I know this analogy doesn't seem to make sense but I think it's a thought worth considering.
In the dangerous art of underwater warfare, submarines do not go all out, blazing torpedoes in every direction to decimate an armada of ships in one attempt. The commanders of these steel menaces tend to be more selective on only one or a few targets which once sunk, quickly retreat their subs under oceanic cover to avoid possible detection and depth charges. U-boats hided for a time good enough to emerge, conduct vital SOPs before heading for the next objectives.
Applicable it is also to money management. There are times when you have to spend carefully and conserve enough for the next several days. Being rash with your basic lifeline is the fastest way to suffer killer debts and depleted resources. Especially when you are earning a whooper, never refuse the humble task of planning your spending.
It's a lesson to learn and an act of discipline and can even save many lives.
