While we are on the subject of a recently deceased thumbdrive, maybe I can take some time off (from animation) and discuss about a music video that came to memory again some time ago.
Ken Hirai's, 'Hitomi Wo Tojite' MV has a good original concept and execution, one that is kinda unconventional in comparison to other love song videos which would gladly only follow the cliquish 'guy runs after girl - guy won over girl - guy gets to date girl - girl get laid by guy - happy conclusion for guy and girl' storyline.
The use of film projection in the MV to simulate memories and desires for a lover is sure a romantic idea. No doubt about it that the idea of long gone passion is well presented; one can never physically be with the cherished partner again but memories are there to remind, that an intimate relationship was once in existence.
With this right elements in place, the MV is worth the view it deserved, never mind you can't even understand Japanese like me.
It's a good song and MV. Who cares ?

MV Intro Scene: Ken Hirai's dark room moment.

Oh, so that's why he's here. The film projection rolls on the wall and what appears to be a tearful confession of a girl, whom we presumed is the Girlfriend.

Crooning In The Dark: Hirai sings his hit.

Memories On The Wall: 'Yeah, I recall... that Sunday afternoon down the street...'

Waiting For Hirai ? : 'What took him so long?'
OHP Romance: Intimate moments with the 'phantom' lover.
Here's My Undies! : The MV's only 'naughty' scene.
The 'Duet': Projection of the Girlfriend being shifted horizontally to strategically sync with Hirai's face and lips. A little creepy if somewhat cute idea.
Tragic Conclusion: The Girlfriend passed out at a tree, strong hint that she had breathed her last.
Time To Move On: Hirai finally steps out of the dark room and into the sun. As he sang on the rooftop, flashes of photo stills of the Girlfriend appear for split seconds in between.
Another New Day Brings Hope: The blue sky and what seems to be a star (not UFO) rising into the heavens.
I Will Remember You, Always: Hirai at the same tree where his lover had died. The End.
